Meet Miwa Sakai 👋

Miwa Sakai is a speech pathologist providing services in Ballarat, working across paediatric, adult, and senior populations. She holds a Master of Speech Pathology from Flinders University and has practised across regional Victoria since graduating - bringing a grounded understanding of what service delivery looks like outside of metro Melbourne.
Paediatric services
Miwa's key areas with children include autism, social communication, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She supports children and families in developing functional communication strategies tailored to individual needs and contexts.
Adult & senior services
With adults and seniors, Miwa works across language, swallowing, and mealtime safety, as well as AAC. This makes her a genuinely versatile option for support coordinators managing diverse caseloads across age groups.
Bilingual: Japanese & English
Miwa is fluent in both Japanese and English, and is able to deliver therapy and conduct assessments in either language. For Japanese-speaking participants and families in regional Victoria, this is a rare and valuable resource.
