Assistive Technology Assessments
BlueRocket provides Assistive Technology Assessments to NDIS, aged care and privately paying clients of all ages in the Perth Metro area.

How It Works
Assistive Technology (AT) can be life-changing for people of all ages living with disability. It empowers you to live more independently, whether that's moving around safely, communicating effectively, or managing daily tasks at home. AT includes a wide range of tools, devices, and equipment designed to make everyday participation easier.
At BlueRocket, AT Assessments can be carried out by our Perth-based Occupational Therapists (OTs), Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists to evaluate your needs and match you with suitable equipment. We’ll take care of the entire process, from the initial consultation and device trials to recommendations, fitting, training, and funding applications.
Steps Involved
When conducting Assistive Technology Assessments, our OTs, Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists follow a structured, person-centred approach to ensure you receive the right equipment and support.
Initial consultation
We get to know your goals, needs, and daily environments.
Assessment & observation
We observe you completing everyday tasks to identify your strengths as well as any barriers you may face. We may also carry out specialised assessments to get a deeper understanding of your needs.
Device trials
You try suitable equipment in real-world settings and we assess fit and function. This includes:
- Mobility supports —customised wheelchairs, walkers, or scooters to enhance safe movement and community access.
- Seating and positioning supports —specialised chairs, cushions, and standing frames to improve posture, comfort, and participation.
- Daily living supports —adapted cutlery, specialised cups, or dressing aids to make mealtimes and self-care easier.
Recommendations & NDIS reporting
We provide personalised advice on the best solutions and prepare detailed reports to support funding applications.
Training & follow-up
We provide hands-on training and ongoing support to ensure you’re confident and comfortable using your equipment.
Who We Support
The purpose of an AT Assessment is to identify and connect you with suitable technology solutions, and provide the evidence for funding. It’s the necessary first step towards accessing the equipment you need to engage more meaningfully with the world around you.
AT Assessments are available to people of all ages and funding types who require daily living supports, mobility aids, home automation and access technology.
