Melissa is a Speech Pathologist who believes therapy should be collaborative, purposeful, and grounded in goals that are meaningful to each individual. She works closely with clients and families to ensure therapy is functional and relevant to everyday life, supporting steady and measurable progress. Melissa is committed to ongoing professional growth and values evidence-based approaches to intervention.
Melissa has a particular interest in literacy development and supporting children to build strong foundations in phonics, phonological awareness, and reading skills. She enjoys delivering structured intervention that builds confidence and promotes long-term learning success.
Her key areas of focus include:
- Literacy development (phonics, phonological awareness, comprehension)
- Speech sound disorders, including Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Language development (expressive and receptive)
- Stuttering and fluency support
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Feeding and swallowing
- Voice and resonance differences
Melissa has completed additional training in:
- STEP (The Swallowing Training and Education Portal)
- Sounds-Write (literacy and phonics program)
She approaches therapy with collaboration, structure, and a strong focus on helping clients achieve practical, functional outcomes.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys engaging in a variety of sports, with volleyball and kitesurfing among her current favourites.
